Who might I be a good fit for?

I work with adults and couples across many different stages of life. I tend to be a good fit for people who appreciate honesty, straightforward conversation, and a practical approach. After more than 40 years as a therapist, I’ve learned that people bring their own strengths, experiences, and ways of seeing the world into the room. My role is to listen carefully, understand what matters to you, and help you find a way forward that feels right for your life.

What concerns do people commonly bring?

People come to me for many different reasons, including anxiety, depression, anger, trauma and PTSD, grief, parenting concerns, relationship challenges, life transitions, major mental illness, and substance use. Sometimes there is something specific that needs attention. Other times, people simply know that something isn’t working the way they would like it to and want some help understanding what comes next.

How do I tend to support people?

I believe understanding what is happening is an important part of figuring out what to do next. Our conversations may include looking at patterns, considering different perspectives, building practical skills, or finding new ways to communicate and respond. My background includes client-centered and cognitive-behavioral therapies, along with training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Relationship Enhancement®, and Love and Logic Parenting®. I draw from that experience differently depending on the person and what they need.

What might it feel like to work with me?

My style is warm, honest, and direct. I’ll listen closely, ask questions, and tell you what I’m seeing when I think it may be helpful. I also pay attention to what is already working and the efforts you’re making, even when things feel difficult. Over the years, I’ve found that some of the most meaningful conversations happen when there is enough trust to be honest, curious, and open to seeing things a little differently.
